in Future generations, Writing Tags: Murphy, Post-A-Day 2011
This Saturday was a treat for me, I got to spend the entire day with my 4-year-old grandson, Murphy. We spent the day working in the garden, playing with a bucket of toy soldiers, and an Iron Man figure. This bright little guy is a bundle of nearly uncontrollable energy that, at times, needs carefully channeling for everyone’s good. While grandpa and grandma spent the morning and early afternoon working at getting tomato plants and such planted Murphy busied himself digging holes… the garden on one side now looks like an old mortar range.
This member of the future generation is full of life and love, he wants so very much to be part of everything happening around him, and like all little boys he likes to rough house. He is a handful at time, but that is what being a little boy is all about.
I realized watching him play that my generation and his parent’s are responsible for making sure that we do all we can to leave a workable future for his generation, not one filled with wars and hate.
Let us hope that we may learn to “Make War No More”.
